. Warming up   

What computers and internet bring us?  

Convenient, high efficient  

Compared to 20 years ago how do you think technology will change our lives?  

For example:   

Go shopping on line.  

Needn’t carry cash and use credit cards.  

Instead of going to the bank you can use a computer and a telephone to pay for bills.  

1. Imagine what happens in the next twenty years?   

2. Is it possible that the computer gives us disaster?  

Look at the title of the article.  

Which of these topics do you think it will mention?

Read the article quickly and check your guess to question 2 above.

4. Voice your opinion  

Do you feel pessimistic or optimistic about the future of the Internet? Why?

1.教材案例分析    

本课是第四单元的第一课,教材围绕人们对数字空间未来发展的设想展开话题。电脑及网络是目前多数中学生经常接触的事物,因此在教学中,可以在学生现有的知识基础上,引导学生进一步预测电脑和网络的发展,并思考这种发展可能产生积极和消极的影响。  

    本单元的Warm-up 部分为第一课做了很好的话题和词汇方面的铺垫,因此本课可以从延续Warm-up 的话题入手,让学生进一步理解cyberspace 的含义,了解不同的人对数字空间未来发展的预测和态度。本课与第2课的话题Website 联系也很紧密,可以为下一课的话题做话题和词汇的铺垫。  

     本课的生词也比较多,也比较困难。因此,最好在几个活动中分层次帮助学生学习,并在教学活动中不断复习和运用新词汇。教师也可以帮助学生围绕话题,按照一定类别记忆词汇。本课的语法教学重点和难点是will be going to 在表达预测时的区别。但是在教学过程中,我觉得不要对这两者的区别过于细化和规则化,重点是让学生理解和使用。  

 2. 教材重组    

本课第一课时重点是获取互联网发展的有关信息,并用自己的语言转述信息,进行词汇学习。因此通过阅读,让学生能够找出人们对数值空间发展的预测和态度,并将这些信息进行归纳和整理。  

在教学时Warm-up, Tomorrow’s World中的ReadingVocabulary,Language Power中的练习题6 (page 55) Word Corner(page 55)整合在一起上一节“阅读理解课”。
